Review
Enter the sisters... at least two of them.

Things really start moving along nicely in the second Ah! My Goddess DVD. The pace picks up, we are introduced to more of the major characters, and we start getting some more interesting conflicts.

The first sister to show up is Megumi, Keiichi's little sis. Turns out she's been accepted to the same college as Kei, and now she needs an apartment or she might end up living with him and Belldandy. Well, Keiichi can't have that ... a little sister around would surely hurt his chances with Belldandy. So, they all go apartment hunting ... though hunting with a goddess sure can get complicated.

Megumi's presence turns out to not be all bad though. Besides the gifts she brings the two, she also tries her best to nudge things along between Kei and Bel, in as subtle a way as she can. With Valentines' and White Day upon them, someone has to tell the Goddess what to do about strange Earth customs!

Then there's Urd, Belldandy's big sister. Turns out Keiichi's wish is wrecking havoc with the computer system in the heavens. Urd is in charge of systems administration, so she decides to come down to Earth and fix things herself. However, her strong-arm tactics with Keiichi manages to get her banned from upstairs. So, poor Kei has yet another goddess living with him.

The two goddesses on the university campus draw a ton of attention, and after losing her title as campus beauty queen to Belldandy, the former Queen of the campus decides to do her best to ferret out the sisters' secrets. Sayoko Mishima enlists the help of Toshiyuki Aoshima to achieve her goals, but ends up making a bigger mess that yields less answers than before.

After failing to uncover their secrets, Toshiyuki Aoshima (and his newly formed 4-wheels club) instead tries to destroy Keiichi and the Auto Club by challenging them to a cross-country race. Whomever loses will disband their club. It's a high stakes race, but the auto club doesn't have a car! How will they win out?

It's a good thing the pace picks up a bit in the second DVD. I'll admit, plot development moves a bit slower in Ah! My Goddess than in many of the more modern shows out there, but the journey is a lot of fun. In then end that is all that matters. The introduction of the sisters brings a lot more conflict to the table, but both Megumi and Urd really have the best interests of their siblings at heart. I really like Urd's character here, she has a penchant for mischief for sure, but she is a lot of fun and is fiercely protective of Belldandy. That is, when she is not being overly competitive. The English VA nails her character dead on, and I continue to be impressed with the dub that Media Blasters put together for this release.

The race episode was my favorite on the disc for sure. There was more action than usual, and a bit more conflict and characterization. It was really fun watching the Auto Club actually do what an Auto Club does.

More episodes like this and I will really be in goddess heaven.
