Well it seems I was not the only one that did not think much of the current season of Teen Titans. So far, Cartoon Network has not opted to renew for a Season 6. According to Animation Insider the prospects are bleak.
Can't say I'm surprised.
Add the recent bloodbath at WB Studios to the mix, and you have a recipe for Titans Turnover. It's a damn shame too, the show had a great start and a lot of potential through Season 4. Guess they really did jump the shark with the Season 5 opener.

"Delays, delays"
There are a few creatures at work stealing my Animaton time lately, thus my inability to get much posted of note.
The first, of course, is work. Things have been pretty busy and my lunchtime updates have all but disappeared.
The second, is DVR burnout. It took me a while to get though all that stuff I had backlogged and I have not been in the mood to pick watch TV much since. I have FUMOFFU 3 opened and on my DVD player, but unwatched. Kinda sad really. I WANT to see the show, but I want to be in the mood for it as well.
The third, is World of Warcraft. I'm not quite "hooked" on the game as I am really impressed. The game has a great pace, very cool graphics, and a great community. It is as close to .hack//SIGN online as you can get. Although not the timeskink Star Wars Galaxies was, it does eat a bit of my free time during the week. Oh, and I discovered PvP last night... that is some evil rush there.
So that's it. Not much to see here, but don't move along. I'll be out of this rut in no-time, and you'll be able to get your fill of Animation Goodness.
Though rewaching all the Harry Potter's in prep for the next movie could be a problem too .... oui!

DeepDiscountDVD is running a 20% off sale 11/11 through 11/19 with a coupon code. I don't get anything for these sales, so consider this a PSA.
The discount is good for DVDs, UMDs and Storage. Pre-release items and games, etc. are excluded. There are various codes you can use for the 20% off. Each can be used once per customer, but you'll be able to do multiple orders with different coupons.

It's rare that in a single week so many anime I have covered on Animation Unlimited have new releases. So, I thought it worth my time for a comment.
There are three series releases and one movie release - all of which make for some great deals on a ton of Anime. Prices are subject to change of course, but this is what we have them as through our online store as of today.
Ah! My Goddess - The Movie - DTS Edition: $22.48 (On our Top 5 List)
Chobits - The Complete Collection: 6 Disc Set - $74.98 (Link to our review)
Please Twins - Box Set /w CD: 4 Disc Set - $34.99 (Link to our Reviews - Disc 1, Disc 2, Disc 3, Disc 4)
Robotech - Protoculture Collection: Whopping 21 Disc Set! - $97.48 (Robotech Macross Saga Reviewed, one-third of this set! - Set 1, Set 2, Set 3)
If you don't have Robotech, that is a great price for the whole schabang! I paid that for Sets 1-3 alone, and that was on sale! I heard ADV will be coming out with a new dub of the Macross Saga, so you could still wait a bit longer ... but you won't get a better price on the whole saga.
Just a heads-up on some great deals!

Holy cow that was a pain in the ass. Note to self, don't get so far behind on TV shows even when you have great DVDs waiting. It's late, so here is the 30-second version on the final round-up.
Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo - wacked hair-bear bunch fighting against the baldies. It's snot for you! Well, maybe it is, depends on your thing.
Loonatics Unleashed - not as bad as feared. Kiddy for sure, but some good lines in there by a few of the revamped cast. Not your Papa's Looney Toons, but what is? All the creators of Papa's toons are dead.
Teen Titans - Still not as good as last season, but better than the first few episodes.
Family Guy - New season still has it, but don't tell that to the evil monkey in my closet. Don't need him getting any ideas.
New DVR should go in tomorrow... now I'll have 60 hours of video to get behind on. DOH!

Well, after much internal debate, I can now declare that the dub for Naruto is done well enough for my tastes.... at least for now. I know I bashed the hell out of it in my first review, but I did state a caviet it sometimes takes a few episodes for a show to hit it's stride.
Well, it's at a full gallop now.
Last weeks episode: "Kakashi: Sharingan Warrior" finally put to rest some of my fears, and forced me to accept that some cuts must stand on TV. I still have some issue with Maile Flanagan as Naruto, but he is flowing out of her much more naturally as a character ... so I'm less concerned than I was. Kate Higgins is doing well as Sakura and Yuri Lowenthal makes a good Sasuke.
However, I get more and more impressed with Zabuza and Kakashi as the show progresses. Steven Jay Blum (best known as Spike on Cowboy Bebop) as Zabuza was a perfect fit, and Naruto fans should count themselves as fortunate to have landed this talented VA as the first real villain of the show. Pitted against Dave Wittenberg as Kakashi (who has had some very memorable and diverse roles including Sora in .hack//SIGN and Kei Kusanagi in Please! Teacher), and you have two foil characters that have a ton of electricity when they clash.
Most impressive of all in "Kakashi: Sharingan Warrior" is the sequence these two voice actors dual each other with ninjitsu techniques, voicing the jutsu "in-time" with each other in Japanese. In a surprise move, Viz chose not to translate the jitsu, instead keeping it true to the original Japanese script. It had to be an extremely difficult sequence to pull off and direct, and it turned out incredibly well. I'll count this as the turn-key moment that sold me on the dub. I went back and rewatched the original sequence on the fansub, and I almost like this version better.
Now that is something.
That's not to say that I would buy the Toonami version of the show. The edited version is due out on DVD in December, but I think I'll wait for the uncut version of Naruto when it hits the shelves next year. Fortunately, Viz will be releasing it uncut, but we will have to wait a bit longer ... at least, for now.

After a long month-and-a-half with a smelly rental, we finally got our Mazda5 back repaired.
A new heat shield, new software upgrade, and a wax and tank of gas.
Oh, Mazda did also decide to give all Mazda5 owners $500 for their trouble and a reset of the warranty so that it starts in December 05 (Instead of when we bought it in August).
Glad that's over.
